In the story "Stray"by Cynthia Rylant,the main character,Doris,found a stray dog.  From the  beginning to the end of the story,Doris tries to convince her parents to let the dog stay.  Doris loves the dog but her parent wont let her stay.  This essay shows how much she loves the dog in the beginning,middle,and end of the story.  Caring is how you show how you show love for something.    

Doris has found a stray dog that had been abandoned and wanted to keep him.   "The dog had been abandoned".   Doris had feelings for the dog that had been abandoned."   Doris put the dog down  on the kitchen."  She wanted to do every thing she can for the little doggy so this show how this matches with the story because it shows that Doris cared for the dog and felt sad of how poorly they treated the dog that way.  That's how the theme statement  and the evidence matches.

Doris had took en good care of of the dog and always feed the dog.   "Doris feed it table scrap".   She had known it took  lots of responsibility for the dog.  "Doris hugged the puppy hard agents her.She admire her dog".  She had a relationship with the dog.   The evidence matches with the theme statement because she loved the dog ands knew it took responsibility for a dog and that's how the theme statement match's with the evidence.

Mr.Lacey had let the dog stay because of the poorly looking pound.  "Doris knew  it had wanted  some company and that it had lain against the door,listening  to the talk in the kitchen,smelling the food,being a part of things"She felt sorry that she cant do the be best for the  dog.  "The dog always waited for her to play."   The dog loved to play with the girl.  They both match because she cared for the dog and loved the dog that how the evidence match's with the theme statement.

"Stray" shows that caring is how you show love to something.  I remember sometimes I begged for my mom to let me have a pet.  She always said no and one day she said yes and we got a cat.  Ever since then  I cared for my cat and loved her so much.   Caring  is how you show love to
