Unless We Care...

    The Lorax by Dr. Seuss is a book about a man named Once-ler who goes to a place with Truffla trees. He cuts down a tree and makes a Thneed. In this story Dr. Seuss is saying to care about the environment or something bad will happen to it.

     The Lorax told the Once-ler to stop the tree-cutting and the Once-ler ignores him. But in the end, the place the Once-ler came to became a bad smelling place. That's why you have to care about the environment so nothing happens to it.

       People cut down trees to make things such as: toothpicks, paper, chairs and so on.  But trees are needed for more important things like taking in bad air and letting out oxygen so we could breathe. So if we take care of the environment ,we can live healthy.

        In The Lorax  the Once-ler feels bad and throws down the last Truffla  seed to the boy. He wants him to care for it and protect it.  At home I am planting a plant for the environment.

       In The Lorax  the Once-ler still worries  what the word " unless" means. He learns that you have to care for the environment. This story helps me understand that caring about the environment is very important because we would not live  if it was not environmet. In my own life I did not know the environment was important, so I kicked a tree and so did others. The owners of the tree saw us and decided to cut the tree down so we would not kick it. I would not kick a tree again.I now know that the environment is very important. The environment matters!
