My Trip to Splish Splash

We planned to go to Splish Splash. “Wake up” my mommy yelled very loudly. When I woke up I remembered that today July 20 was my birthday and that we were taking a trip to Splish Splash. I thought about who was going to be there. Me, my cousins Brandi, Rodney, Khalil, Khatrel, and my favorite cousin of all, Shaqoyah A.K.A Yadi. When mother woke me up early, it was to go to McDonald’s for breakfast. By the time we left, my mother had called my cousins to meet us there, but they were already on their way.

Splish Splash was great until I almost drowned. My mother had told me "Don't go inside any kind of pool," at the water park, but I thought that since I was now 9 I could do whatever I wanted. We walked around until we came to a big pool. My cousins were going into the pool and I wanted to go in too. I decided to go into the pool with them although they told me to ask my mother. I did but she had said “No.” I told them my mother said yes, I could go in.  Once I got in, I went in the middle of the pool. It was deep and I started to struggle to get back out. I was scared and I started to sink.  I felt that I was drowning. My cousin helped me out and yes, I got into super trouble.

After I came back from Splish Splash I was in lots of trouble. Not only did I disobey my mother, but I had lied too. No one hit me with a belt but I did get a long boring talk. I was mad at my mother for thinking I was ignoring her. I kept folding my arms and she kept unfolding them.  I was even madder when she told me to never disobey her again. I thought I was too old to be crying so I didn’t.

I was angry that my mother was punishing me but I realized that I had done something wrong that was really dangerous.  When my friend came upstairs to my house and asked if I could go outside, my mother said “Yea go ahead but you won’t get the cake mixed.” So my friend and I stayed upstairs and helped me decorate the cake for my birthday party.  The whole world was there at my party. It was fun. My mother had forgiven me.
