My Take on the War in Iraq

There are many things that we as Americans have and take advantage of. Some examples would be having an ample amount of food, a good education, job opportunities and, shelter for all citizens. Unfortunately, like I said, we have many American citizens who take advantage of their rights and privileges. We also have people who are jealous because of our country being what it is, the best in the World. All American citizens are free, they can practice whatever religion they want, and have all the rights that an American Citizen is entitled to. Most other countries don’t even have one of those three advantages of being a U.S. citizen that I just named. People in America take sides; for sports, family, education, and politics. The current issues have been whether or not the troops should be in Iraq or not. This issue has been so drastic; most people now believe that our President, George W. Bush is not a good President. This is George W. Bush’s last term sentence and his decisions could force the outcome of the next Presidential Election. There are many sides but I would say the majority of people are against our troops being in Iraq.

We started out in Iraq because of the tragedies that occurred on September 11, 2001. Four American jet liners were hi-jacked in mid air, by nineteen men armed with box cutters and knives. Two of the jet liners crashed into both of the Twin Towers (North Tower and South Tower) in New York City, one hit the Pentagon is Washington D.C., and the last jet liner crashed. Its target was supposedly the White House (President's Residence), but it crashed in Shankesville, Pennsylvania. The hi-jackers were brutally beaten by the angered passengers who were remaining. Unfortunately no one on United 93 was knowledgeable with how to fly a plane, so they crashed in the open fields of Shankesville. On that day the United State of America lost 2,992 citizens and all nineteen of the suicide hi-jackers. These attacks that had taken place on September 11, 2001 and began at 8:48 A.M. was led by Osama bin Laden. On September 12, 2001, President George W. Bush had convinced both sides of congress to declare war against Iraq. Although the Presdident announced it and declared wart, we did not actually go until March 20, 2003. To this day there are many conspiracies about what did happen on this long lasting day in America’s history. Some of these are; before the hi-jackers of the planes reached the Twin Towers in New York, explosives were set off inside both of the towers. Others are that a jet liner did not crash into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and that United 93 was shot down. Some individuals are saying that our government knew but they still let the attacks occur without warning to these cities and the United States of America’s people. I personally believe that the people behind these “conspiracies” are Democrats and were trying to get us to turn against President Bush ... and they have succeeded.

To this day of January 16, 2007 the United States of America has lost 3,018 soldiers in Iraq. The United Kingdom has lost 128 of its soldiers trying to help our cause against ending terrorism. While that has happened and may startle you, the Iraqi’s have even lost more. The total amount of Iraqi deaths has been somewhat around 392,979-942,636 people. Iraq Military lost 4,895- 6,370 of it soldiers and the Security Forces lost 12,000 +! As you can see from these results, if these Iraqi deaths all terrorists, then the war in my mind is being successful. My personal opinion is that we should be at war. To me it is crazy that the families of those who have had men and women fall, debate and strike against the War in Iraq. This is all you really need to say, The men and women who served and have fallen knew what the risks are and they took the chance and unfortunately lost their lives. No one can say you are wrong because it is obvious that this information is true and correct. Have you noticed that most of the people who protest and debate the War in Iraq have all lost someone over there. Now I am not saying who cares that we lost 3,000+ soldiers, but they need to understand they died for their country. They served their country, to me, their families shouldn’t be asked for anything ever again. All those who lost their lives for this country I thank you, and you will never ever be forgotten.
